So in search of ideas, we have to scramble all over the Internet for designs and pictures. Pinterest has helped a lot in the idea process and we are really thankful for the help that Pinterest has provided. There are so many resources out there and it is never ending to get information. Sometimes we just need to see more to know what we do not want, when we really don’t know what we want.
Kitchen – As there was a need to put a grand piano into the living area, the kitchen space would be sacrificed, and there won’t be much space to play around. Also, there are a few thoughts as to how all the cabinets should be placed. Few considerations were 1. How many full height cabinets 2. How big will the fridge be? 3. What kind of hinges to use? If we go for modular kitchen, then there will not be a need to think about the hinges. 4. Is there going to be an island? We spoke so much to the cabinets section of the various designers, and fittings, even to Blum. Studying every feature of the cabinets and sizes, thinking of what to put in each drawer, how to place the washing machine, how to use and effectively cover the back door and yet not block it.
Living & Dining Area – This area takes up the second most amount of time of the whole renovation. Of course, the most painstaking is the master bedroom. It was very tough deciding the colour tone of the whole place, but with the help of Pinterest again and the interior designer Joyce, it was decided that it is going to be somewhat of a dark brown, grey tone, instead of a beige, milky theme.
Master bedroom – This is also the one that took up the most time. From the floor to the ceiling, to the walls. Especially the bathroom, the colour theme and the various toilet fittings that make up the bathroom today. Every effort and time spent can be seen at every corner of this place.
